Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
In short: If you only visit xgsimple.com, we use cookie-free analytics and do not track you as an individual. If you subscribe, we keep your name and email address so we can send you the newsletter and give you access.
Who is responsible
Casper Andersson. You can reach us at hello@xgsimple.com.
Visitors
We use two cookieless analytics tools to see overall trends in traffic. Neither uses cookies or other storage in your browser.
Plausible shows us referral sources, top pages, visit duration, and the device type, operating system, country and browser used. It is anonymous and aggregated, and the data is stored on a server in Germany.
Ghost's own analytics shows us visitors, top pages, sources and countries, with the data stored in the EU. If you are signed in as a member, it links your page views to your member ID and to whether you are a free or paid member, so we can see what makes people subscribe.
We do this because we want to understand how the site is used (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). You can object by writing to hello@xgsimple.com.
Members
When you subscribe or join the waitlist we keep your name and email address, the newsletters you chose, the page you signed up on, your country (worked out from your IP address when you sign up), when you last used the site, and whether you open our emails and click the links in them. You sign in with a one-time link sent by email, and one functional cookie keeps you signed in.
We use this to send you the newsletter, to give you access to member content and to tell you when paid membership opens (your consent and the agreement you asked for, GDPR art. 6(1)(a) and (b)). We track opens and clicks to see whether the newsletter is read (our legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f)); you can object by unsubscribing. You can unsubscribe at any time in every email. We keep your data until you ask us to delete it. We do not take payments yet.
Who helps us
These providers handle data on our behalf: Ghost (publishing, hosting and members), Mailgun and Tinybird (through Ghost, for email delivery and analytics), Plausible (analytics), Fastmail (our mailbox) and Cloudflare (domain name service). We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Our agreements with them use the EU's standard contractual clauses, or the provider is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, or to withdraw your consent. Write to hello@xgsimple.com. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.dk.
